Privacy
This page explains what personal data is processed when you use this website and how it is handled. Operator and data controller in the sense of the GDPR is Polyvection UG (haftungsbeschränkt); see the Imprint for full contact details.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies, neither first-party nor third-party. No cross-session identifiers are stored on your device.
Server logs
The server hosting this site records standard access logs each time a page is requested, comprising:
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referrer URL
- Requesting IP address
- Time and date of the request
These data are required for the technical operation of the website and are not combined with other data sources. Logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes and then deleted. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation of the site).
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate visit statistics. Plausible is a privacy-focused analytics service operated by Plausible Insights OÜ (Tallinn, Estonia) on EU-based servers. It does not set cookies, does not track users across sites, does not collect or store IP addresses, and does not generate persistent identifiers. Visit counts are derived from a daily-rotating hashed fingerprint that is discarded after 24 hours, so re-identification of individual visitors is not possible. The same Plausible property is shared with our parent site polyvection.com so we can see aggregate traffic patterns across both sites in one place.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage to improve the service). Because Plausible does not process personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 GDPR, no consent banner is required (cf. EDPB Guidelines 03/2022 and the published position of Datenschutzkonferenz on cookieless analytics). Plausible's full data policy: plausible.io/data-policy.
Email contact
When you reach out to us by email (e.g. for a pre-order or support), the data you send is stored solely for processing your enquiry. It is not shared with third parties without your consent and is deleted once it is no longer needed for the original purpose, subject to statutory retention obligations (notably tax law, where invoice-related correspondence may be retained for up to 10 years).
Embedded resources
With one exception (the analytics script described above), every resource required to render this site is served from this site's own origin. Webfonts (Space Grotesk, JetBrains Mono) are self-hosted, the interactive 3D viewer (model-viewer) and its mesh-decoding components (Draco) are bundled locally, and the lighting environment used by the viewer is delivered from this server. No Google Fonts, no CDN scripts, no tracking pixels.
The single third-party request fired automatically when you open a page
is the Plausible analytics script
plausible.io/js/pa-…js, which is described in detail in
the Analytics section above. All other outbound hyperlinks
on this site (e.g. to raspberrypi.com, polyvection.com,
the EU ODR portal) only contact those services if you explicitly click
them.
SSL / encryption
This site is delivered exclusively over HTTPS. All traffic between your browser and the server is encrypted in transit.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Information about your stored personal data (Art. 15)
- Correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
- Erasure (Art. 17) and restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability (Art. 20)
- Object to processing (Art. 21)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77)
To exercise any of these rights, email info@polyvection.com. The competent supervisory authority for our company is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg (LDA Brandenburg).
